Modern Methods of Treatment for Children. CENTRAVIS Contributing to the Development of Medical Infrastructure

International Children’s Day occurs annually on 1 June, and this year, a number of CENTRAVIS employees stopped in at Nikopol Children’s Hospital with much needed equipment for the hospital and arms full of gifts for those little ones receiving treatment that day.

Parents and children from Outpatient Clinic No. 4 welcomed the entourage, and were eager to learn how they might benefit from the new diagnostic and therapeutic equipment received by the medical facility. Among those items donated were an oxygen concentrator, which takes in air, modifies it, and delivers it in a new form for children with serious breathing issues due to low oxygen levels in the blood; a pulse oximeter, which measures blood oxygen saturation; and a rather unique ophthalmoscope, which looks at the eye and its structure, guaranteeing high-precision and painless diagnosis. It should be noted that this is the second oxygen concentrator CENTRAVIS has donated to the children’s hospital. It was decided a second one was needed due to high demand in treating pneumonia, bronchitis, and other respiratory diseases.

The ophthalmoscope will be fitted in the hospital’s ambulance, and is a truly unique acquisition as even some of the regional hospitals are without such a device. As an instrument that allows doctors to examine the fundus of the eye, what follows is a highly accurate diagnosis and therefore appropriate treatment.

“Children are our most precious gifts. Assisting medical institutions, especially children’s hospitals, is a responsibility CENTRAVIS does not take lightly. It is very important that such a partnership is long-term, and does not begin or end with a single donation. Since 2008, we have allocated more than 2 million UAH for the purchase of modern medical equipment, saving the lives of the country’s citizens daily. It should be noted that all of the services provided by hospitals in Nikopol using the equipment we have provided are absolutely free,” says Vera Nevinchanaya, director of the Company’s charity fund.

In addition to the equipment, CENTRAVIS employees helped raise the spirits of all of the young patients in that day with toys and warm wishes.
